Namastay pt. 3 - Facing Problems in India

In the early morning of March 5th, I took a bus to Jodhpur. Jodhpur is known as the Blue City and I was super excited for this since my favorite color is blue. I was once again alone so you know what that means, the nervousness came back a bit. Even though I had been in India for days by now, every city felt like a new world. There was just so much going on anywhere you looked, you could simply sit there and enjoy the time and feel like you were learning something. As the crazy person I am, I downloaded an app called Couchsurfers. This is an app where you can make friends online to hang out with, show you around the city, and they even sometimes welcome you into their homes to stay. They're usually travellers themselves, so it's a comfortable situation where you can talk about your traveling experiences and all with someone that understands. I met a few different people in Jodhpur, but didn't really click with most of them. One guy took me to a place called Kayalana Lake, w

Namastay pt. 2 - Perspectives in India

March 2, 2020. After a few hours on the bus,  I arrived in Jaipur that evening. Now, this is where my friend lives, so I once again felt more calm that I had someone I was comfortable to fall back on if I needed it. My stop was getting closer, so I texted my friend to ensure that he was picking me up from my bus stop. All was well and I got off the bus, soon to be swarmed by tuktuk drivers. It was interesting to me. As an American, I had only ever seen a tuktuk in movies, and I always thought they were awesome. I had no idea they were literally everywhere in India. Anywhere you go, anywhere you're walking, you're sure to have a tuktuk pull up next to you and ask if you need a ride. As many times as you say no, they'll continue to ask until you want to get a ride just so they'll stop asking.... And I thought I had a lot of perseverance! My friend called and said he will be at my location soon so I waited a few minutes, only to see him pull up on a motorcycle! Now, if you

Namastay pt. 1 - My Journey in India

February 27, 2020, the day I stepped foot in India's capital. Traveling to India was something I had dreamed of for so long, and it had finally become a reality for me. I was too excited for my 3 week trip. The culture, the food, the people, the landscapes, they were all equally exciting for me, I couldn't wait to take it all in and finally experience it first hand, not only through a screen. I got off the plane, and I instantly felt like I was home. Any problem that had bothered me before suddenly didn't matter. I was where I was supposed to be. Many people told me I was making a mistake by taking my first solo trip out of country. But with months of preparation, now was my time to shine and prove not only them, but myself wrong.  I arrived late night and waited for one friend to meet me at the airport. We had never met in person before, but had been friends on the internet for some months by now, which in itself was an experience. As soon as I stepped outside of the airpo

Hi friends! Welcome to my new journey of blogging. Blogging is something I have always wanted to do, so why not start now? My name is Johnna. I'm 22, and I am from Missouri, USA.  I have many passions, and I figure with a blog, I can sort of tie them all together somehow. My blog will cover anything from my daily life, including, but not limited to, my views, events, mental health, music, poetry, traveling, cooking, along with anything you all would like me to discuss! I have an open mind and a big heart, and I am always looking to spread as much light as I can in any place of darkness. Those who know me can vouch for that, and those who don't know me yet will soon learn! I look forward to becoming closer with everyone and adding a bit of my knowledge and experiences to your lives. I may be young, but age doesn't define quality of life. Be sure to comment any topics that you would like to see me discuss over this journey. Thank you to all and see you soon. Together we will
